Not Many New Cowsheds — But a Lot of Maintenance
Doug and Bev Grant have been in business for approximately thirty years — originally as general engineers. However, more recently they have taken a different direction and now are also installing milking machinery in cowsheds.
For the past five years they have been agents for GEA WestfaliaSurge NZ Ltd and WestfaliaSurge, supplying milking equipment in cowsheds around the North and also all consumables to suit. The biggest rotary they have worked on is a 72-bale at Kaikohe, which included cup removers and an automatic plant wash system. This year because of the downturn and drought there are not as many new cowsheds but there is a lot of maintenance and upkeep of older sheds.
Doug also does shed testing and D R & B A Grant Engineering still do general farm machinery maintenance, as well as lathe & milling machining, stainless & aluminium welding.
