It was a day of celebration for the local community when Ruawai’s new kindergarten opened last week.

“A community open day gave our children and families the chance to have a wander around and check out the new facilities,” said head teacher, Sara McKinley.

“The building is located next to the Ruawai Primary School and adjacent to Ruawai College on State Highway 12 and will create an ‘education hub’ for Ruawai and Kaipara communities, which will help the kindergarten children with their transition to primary school.

It will be licensed initially for 30 children, increasing to 40 at a later date.

Twenty hours ECE are offered to children aged three to ve years old. Enrolment forms are available at the kindergarten of ce and families are welcome to visit during session hours.
