The four commissioners appointed to replace the elected Kaipara District councillors are expected to take over the role in the first week of September.
Their appointment, officially requested by council, was the government-appointed review team’s central recommendation.
The government proposes to defer the scheduled 2013 election until 2015 as it is likely the commissioners would be required at council until then.
The commissioners appointed are:
| John Robertson, QSO (chair) is a former MP and a former mayor of Papakura. An accredited company director and chartered accountant with his own business, he has served as chair of a number of organisations including Infrastructure Auckland and the Auckland Mayoral Forum. |
