Young Ambassador recognised
Young ambassadors from left: Damian Rowe, Otamatea High School, Lara Ware, Otamatea High School, Sierra Tane, Dargaville High School, Katie Humm (winner), Dargaville High School, Ciara Swords (runner-up), Bream Bay College, Cassandra Mitchell, Otamatea Christian School, Thomas Barnsley, Dargaville High School
Dargaville High School student, Katie Humm, was awarded $1,000 as first prize at the Zone 3 Young Ambassadors ceremony held recently at the Memorial Park kiosk in Dargaville with second prize of $200 going to Ciara Swords from Bream Bay College.
The seven contestants from Dargaville High School, Otamatea High School, Otamatea Christian School and Bream Bay College were judged on academic achievement, sporting performance and community involvement as well as an interview and a five-minute speech.
Katie will compete in the Young Ambassadors 202K final in Auckland in October
