Kaipara Schools

It’s the July School holidays which also means it’s half way through the year. So what have our Kaipara Schools been up to?
 

Year 5-8 students from Tangiteroria School attended the Junior Tough 
Guy/Girl Challenge in Helensville in term two. Office administrator 
Shannon Campbell said all of the pupils competed well and enjoyed 
the experience.
Tangowahine School spent time creating roller coasters in class 
to learn about different types of energy. Students have also
been busy throughout the term making ‘spicy plum sauce’
from the school orchard and learning how to propagate 
plants.

Students from St Joseph’s Catholic School in Dargaville were 
involved in a variety of activities celebrating Matariki 
and finished with a performance from the newly formed 
Kapa Haka group and a sit-down meal.

Mangawhai Beach School celebrated Matariki over a week during 
term two. Students learnt about the stars in the Matariki 
constellation and Year 7-8 students in Room 13 helped 
to create activities relating to the stars.
