A fundraiser for the top senior netball team at Otamatea High School will be the first if it’s kind on Heathdale Farms on July 23.
Co-organiser Kim Allen is no stranger to hosting fundraising events on her property including the Marohemo horse trek and the annual Maungaturoto Primary School trail ride and now she can add mud run to the list.
The run will include two route options of a 3.5km or 4.5-5km course going through the scenic surrounds of Heathdale farms sheep and beef property where meandering streams and muddy drains will add a natural obstacle element.
“We are hoping the mud run will be another good fundraiser for Otamatea High School Senior Netball team 1,” says Kim.
All funds raised are going towards supporting the team as they spend a week in Auckland from September 4 for the Upper North Island Secondary Schools Tournament.
“The run is about having fun and is a great opportunity for some team building and helping your team members get through the fabulous mud! Or you go it alone for the satisfaction of not needing help through the mud and obstacles,” says Kim.
After the event there will be awards for best dressed and spot prizes for finishing the run. Pre-registration is preferred before by July 21 however entries will be accepted on the day.
The run will take place at 100 Hill Road Marohemo, Maungaturoto and registration starts at 10am with the run kicking off at 11am.
