The Mangawhai Activity Zone will showcase the ever expanding range of activities on offer on October 22 beginning at 11am with junior cricket for over five-year-olds.
“The demonstration will be conducted by New Zealand cricketer Brendon Bracewell and will include fast bowling, bowling accuracy plus using a batting device, said MAZ committee member Ken Rayward.
The zone provides for all ages and fitness stages something MAZ supporters hope to highlight during the day.
Afternoon activities starting at 3pm will showcase the new outdoor fitness centre and the famous MAZ skate bowl.
Also on offer is the pump bike track, netball, basketball, junior soccer, walking tracks, beach volleyball and children’s games and crafts. Food and drink will also be available.
“This is a fundraising day for your MAZ. It will also be the official launch y amazing locals Emma Kent and Corey Radford who in 2018 will be competing in the Mongol Rally and have selected MAZ as their chosen charity recipient for funds raised,” said Ken.
Zone supporters will be selling ‘MAZ supporter’ car stickers throughout the day for $20. Entry on the day is free and organisers recommend pedestrian traffic due to limited parking options.
