New chapter for funeral home

Dargaville has a brand-new funeral home on the same site as the original facility, which was established in 1921.

Morris and Morris Funerals purchased the business of Hart Funerals in 2013, and as part of the changes, the name Hart Funerals is retiring after 21 years of service.

General manager for Morris and Morris, Gary Taylor, felt it was important for the company to be on the same site as past funeral directors and says the same level of service will remain.

“As part of our commitment to the community, we felt it was important, that we provide a facility that was first-class and complemented our professional, caring service.

“We can assure you our standards haven’t changed, and you can expect honest, genuine care when we assist you to create a meaningful farewell for your loved one.”

Northland MP, Matt King, opened the facility, saying it was a ‘privilege’.

“I get involved in both ends of the spectrum by opening early childhood centres and funeral homes. It’s great to see people investing in local businesses, and this is a really good thing for Dargaville.”
